Advancement Administrative Coordinator/Database Administrator

Position Summary

We are seeking a diligent and detail-orientated Advancement Administrative Coordinator/Database Administrator to join our growing and dynamic Advancement team.  Under the supervision of the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, this position will provide leadership in managing the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s Advancement database (Raiser’s Edge), which tracks contributions, alumni, donor, and prospect information.  In addition, this position will provide support to other members of the Advancement team who oversee special events, advancement communications, alumni programs, and donor relations. The Advancement Administrative Coordinator demonstrates “hospitality, availability, personal interest and concern for others” which are hallmarks of the Charism of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Database Management

    • Maintains Raiser’s Edge database, ensuring that policies and procedures are followed, and data is successfully entered and maintained. 

    • Design and generate reports and queries on Raiser’s Edge database as requested by the VP of Institutional Advancement.

    • Provide training and technical support to the team on the donor database in tandem with vendor, Blackbaud.

  2. Communication and Correspondence 

    • Draft and edit correspondence to donors, alumni, and other key stakeholders.

    • Manage the distribution of external correspondence with stakeholders through newsletters, emails, and other communications.

    • Serve as the Advancement team’s first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

  3. Donor Research

    • Conduct research on prospective donors, foundations, and corporations to support BGHS.

    • Prepare briefing documents for Advancement staff meeting.

  4. General Administrative 

    • Supervise student workers, volunteers, and interns where appropriate.

    • Process all gifts and pledges in coordination with the finance department.

    • Provide support as needed with special events, programs, or projects.

    • Provide general administrative support to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement.

Qualifications

  • An Associate’s degree in a related field, Bachelor’s degree preferred. 

  • 2-3 years experience in a similar role in a business, education, or non-profit environment including public relations, administrative, and database management.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. 

  • Must have strong customer service orientation.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information. 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace essential. 

  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising databases is highly preferred.

Full-Time English Teacher — 2024-25 School Year

Bishop Guertin High School anticipates an opening for an experienced, full-time English Teacher for the 2024-25 school year. The successful candidate will possess the ability to teach various courses including, but not limited to, Introduction to Literature, World Literature, American Literature, and British Literature. Candidates for this position should demonstrate exemplary content area knowledge in grammar, writing, and literature, as well as flexibility and comfort with the use of technology in the classroom.  Additionally, the successful candidate will have the desire to work in a Catholic school, collaborate with colleagues, and set high standards for learning.

Full-Time Social Studies Teacher — 2024-25 School Year

Bishop Guertin High School anticipates an opening for an experienced Social Studies teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The position will have a focus in law, civics, and government.  The ideal candidate will be able to teach a broad array of courses, including, World History, Economics, United States History, and American Government. A successful candidate will have the desire to teach in a Catholic school, should have previous experience, can establish a positive classroom culture, and will work energetically in a student-centered environment.

Full-Time Spanish Teacher - 2024-25

Bishop Guertin High School seeks an experienced, full-time Spanish teacher to join the school community as a long-term substitute for the entire 2024-25 school year.  The ideal candidate will have a desire to teach in a Catholic school and be comfortable teaching a wide range of Spanish courses, working as part of a team, and clearly articulating grammatical principles while at the same time encouraging the growth of a wide range of communicative skills. A successful candidate would possess a B.A. in Spanish or an adjacent discipline.  The ability to teach French as well is desirable, but not essential for consideration of employment.
