BG Counselors help students find the best fit when choosing the college or university where they will continue their education. Traditionally, 96% to 98% or more of our seniors go on to colleges or universities all over the US and Canada, including prominent Catholic universities and colleges, the Ivys, state schools, and military academies.
The entire faculty builds and reinforces
caring relationships with the students. The relationships
are especially visible in the teachers' availability before
and after school and in the student's relationships with
their counselors.
Students at Bishop Guertin are assigned to
a counselor alphabetically and usually remain with that
counselor throughout their tenure at the school. This allows
the student to become comfortable with the counselor and
the counselor to observe patterns of growth and maturity
in the students as they work to find the best fit for the
student when choosing a college.
The professional counseling staff also seeks to advocate,
educate, counsel, consult and support in all areas of the
BG community - students, parents, faculty and alumni.
