TuitionTuition at Bishop Guertin is set by the School Board and Trustees each year. Tuition for the current school year is $11,500 and is adjusted annually. A yearly activity fee of $150 covers all extracurricular activities such as intramurals, drama and field trips. Each student also pays a registration fee of $350 annually which covers the administrative costs associated with course selection, curriculum guide, progress and report cards, administration of standardized tests and student insurance. It also provides funding for co-curricular activities and contributes towards items such as ID photos and admission to home interscholastic games.
Financial Aid Financial aid at Bishop Guertin is awarded solely on basis of need. From the very beginning of Bishop Guertin High School, the balance between a fair tuition-based education and making education available to all who wish to attend BG has been a constant challenge. Through parent programs, donations and especially Bingo, funds continue to be set aside at Bishop Guertin to ensure that financial assistance will be available for those who demonstrate need. To ensure that awards are objective, BG uses an outside third party assessor. Applications can be found at,
www.factstuitionaid.com. All information sent is held in strict confidence, but must be verified with up to date tax returns, (2009) by the January 14th deadline before any award can be made to a family. 2010 tax returns will also need to be sent for verification as soon as completed, but before April 14, 2010. Notices of awards will be included with new student’s acceptance letters in January. All families who receive awards are asked to volunteer some extra service to the school community - generally through our Bingo program, which generates funds for our financial aid program. Based on need, over $500,000 was made available to families for the 2010-2011 school year.
