About Us
Mission & History
On September 4, 1963 a group of brave freshman boys and seven Brothers of the Sacred Heart came together for the first day of class at the newly founded Bishop Guertin High School. While the permanent facilities for the school were still under construction, the first classes were held at an old orphanage on Main Street in Nashua. It was a year of firsts, there were no precedents, no traditions, no extras. What this group of students and the community that supported them had was a pioneering, can-do spirit. It was through the generosity and faith of family, parishes, friends, local business leaders, the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, and the diocese that Bishop Guertin went from an idea to become reality. Today, we can look back at fifty years of tradition, pride, educational excellence, and values that have been the hallmark of the Bishop Guertin experience. We hope that you will join us as we celebrate BG's 50th Anniversary. As seen on this page there are series of special events being planned as part of the celebration. Come back to BG or join us at an alumni reception near you!
