Inspiring the Creative Spirit
Bishop Guertin students are passionate about the arts, and they have many opportunities to share their gifts with the greater BG community.
Fine arts are a regular part of the academic program, with hands-on classes that help students see the world through the lens of an artist. In addition to introductory courses and art history and appreciation courses, our art teachers offer honors art courses that allow students to hone their skills as they explore specific media in more depth.
Our art studios are open spaces where students expand their creativity and build technical skill in drawing, painting, sculpture, pottery, and photography. A special class called The Art of Presenting shows students how to use digital media to make classroom presentations effective and compelling.
If you enjoy music and performance, you can join one of the many music groups on campus, such as band, jazz band, and chorus. You can also take part in one of the many drama productions that we put on each year, either on stage as an actor or behind the scenes working with the set and costumes.
