Campus Ministry at BG
All Bishop Guertin students are welcome to become members of Campus Ministry. Applications are available in the Campus Ministry Office. Please stop by, check out the new space and fill out an application. **This group is never closed.**
Members of Campus Ministry serve, primarily, on one of four committees:
Faith Formation, Raising Awareness, Community Service & Communication. On your application, please indicate which committee you prefer to serve on. All Campus Ministry members are welcome to serve on additional committees, but the committee they agree upon with the Campus Ministers must take priority.
The Campus Ministry Leadership Team consists of 10 student ministers: 2 co-chairs and 2 leaders per committee. Students interested in serving as leaders must apply before summer vacation.
Liturgies - Writing “Prayers of the Faithful”, offering ideas for power points to accompany liturgy, serving as Music Ministers, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers and Altar Servers. Also includes coordinating “set up & take down” with Athletic Department, Maintenance and Tech Crew.
Prayer Services - Creatively planning school-wide prayer services and recruiting volunteers for various roles. Includes Music Ministry & Tech Crew Communication.
Morning Prayer - This group also helps to prepare the morning prayer (gathering/writing prayers and assigning readers).
Plans Drives & Special Events - Helps to inform the BG community about events and mission drives in creative ways.
Examples: Breast Cancer Awareness, Thanksgiving Food Drive, African Mission Drive, Christmas Toy Drive, Catholic Schools Week, Accepted Student’s Night, and Club Fair, etc.
Community Service - Promotes service opportunities, serves the community and reflects on these experiences. Examples: Nashua Soup Kitchen, Fairgrounds Tutoring, Corpus Christi Food Pantry, etc.
Communication - Find new and creative ways to keep the BG community informed and educated about Campus Ministry events, the mission statement and follow up from events.
MEETINGS FOR ALL MEMBERS OF CAMPUS MINISTRY WILL BE HELD at 7:15 am on the FIRST and THIRD Thursday of every month.
