Prospective 9th Grade Students

We know you have questions…Is there a lot of homework? Will I make friends? Do I have to wear a uniform?

The transition to high school is an exciting time in every student’s life. It brings with it not only a world of new opportunities, but also new challenges. Starting off at any new school is always a period of adjustment. We get that. But rest assured, whether coming from a private or public school–near or far–you will have a home here.

Yes, there is homework, but your teachers are available before and after school to assist you.

Yes, you will make friends. Beyond the classroom, there are so many opportunities for freshmen to get involved at BG. From clubs to athletics, from the arts to service projects and mission trips, there is something for everyone.

Yes, you have to wear a uniform. The ability to present oneself in a positive manner is critical, and is a skill taught through our uniform. Additionally, the school uniform places every student on a level playing field, and many students report that it reduces stress by relieving them of the concern over what to wear on a given day.

There are still a few spots left in our freshman class at this time. Families are highly encouraged to reach out to the Office of Admission by emailing admit@bghs.org for more information.

BG is one of the most welcoming environments I’ve ever entered into. The staff and faculty are so kind and helpful and are always understanding and generous. I’ve also made so many wonderful friends here that I’ve shared countless memories with. BG is not just about the academics, but also the people and the environment that makes sure every student feels comfortable. - Emily Breault ’25

“I love how much of a community BG is. As an incoming freshman, I was nervous about how the transition would go, but I quickly met lots of people that have become some of my best friends. So far, I have had an amazing experience, and I am looking forward to the rest of my time as a Cardinal!” -Angelina Turcotte ’23
