Katie Bourque Named Head Coach of Field Hockey
June 5, 2026
NASHUA, N.H. – Bishop Guertin Athletic Director Ryan Brown has announced the hiring of Katie Bourque as the next head coach of the Cardinals’ varsity field hockey program.
Bourque arrives at Bishop Guertin with one of the most successful coaching resumes in New Hampshire field hockey. During her nine seasons as head coach at Windham High School from 2013 to 2021, her teams reached the state championship game in all but one campaign, capturing five state titles.
Under Bourque’s leadership, Windham transitioned from Division II to Division I in 2018 after winning back-to-back championships and three titles in five years. The Jaguars quickly established themselves among the state’s elite, advancing to the Division I championship game in their first season at the highest level. After falling short in that contest, Windham responded by winning consecutive state championships in 2019 and 2020.
For her efforts, Bourque was named the Eagle-Tribune Coach of the Year in 2019 after guiding the Jaguars to the program’s first Division I state title.
“I’m honored to have been selected as the next head coach of the Bishop Guertin field hockey program,” Bourque said. “I know the legacy and success of BG athletics, and I’m excited to get the season underway. Field hockey is a passion of mine, and I look forward to sharing that passion with the girls in the program as we begin a path toward greatness. Go Cards!”
Bourque spent the last four years coaching lacrosse at Pinkerton Academy and now returns to the sidelines in field hockey, where she enjoyed championship success throughout her coaching career.
“We are excited to welcome Coach Bourque to our program,” Brown said. “She has a long track record of outstanding success as a field hockey coach in New Hampshire and has demonstrated the ability to build strong relationships and a positive team culture. We look forward to seeing how she builds upon the great history of our field hockey program.”
In addition to her coaching experience at Windham and Pinkerton, Bourque also serves with the New Hampshire Tomahawks lacrosse program, further strengthening her ties throughout the Granite State’s athletic community.
