BG Honors Students and Staff at 2026 Cardinal Convocation
May 13, 2026
On the morning of May 13, Bishop Guertin proudly recognized several outstanding faculty and staff members, along with numerous students for their involvement and leadership in clubs and activities, during the annual Cardinal Convocation. This event is meant to honor remarkable contributions to the school community by both students and staff alike.
Mrs. Amy Warren was named this year’s recipient of the prestigious “Coach Mac” Award, presented annually to an educator who is deeply respected by their peers and known as a true “teacher’s teacher.” Selected by a committee of past recipients, the award honors longtime teacher Thomas MacDonald. Mrs. Warren is widely admired by both students and colleagues for creating a classroom environment that fosters thoughtful discussion, intellectual curiosity, and skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
Mr. Brian Starck received the highest honor bestowed upon a Bishop Guertin faculty or staff member: the Fr. Andre Coindre Award. This distinction is presented to a community member who embodies the spirit of Fr. Coindre and reflects the Charism of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart through faithfulness, authenticity, respect, and selfless service. Mr. Starck’s dedication to the BG music department has had a profound impact on countless students through the years. His students know not only that he pushes them to grow as musicians and learners, but also that he genuinely cares about their well-being and success.
Two retiring teachers were also honored by the entire BG community for their extraordinary combined service of more than 50 years on Lund Road. Mr. Bill Boucher of the science department and Mr. Brian Jackson of the theology department each received standing ovations in recognition of careers that have shaped generations of Bishop Guertin students.
Throughout his tenure and in addition to his incredible career in the classroom, Mr. Boucher has played a leading role in Bishop Guertin’s partnership with the American Red Cross, helping organize countless blood drives that have made BG one of the region’s most active schools in donation efforts. Mr. Jackson has long been the face of BG’s award-winning Mock Trial program, mentoring and inspiring students who would later pursue careers and degrees in law and justice. Both educators have left an immeasurable mark on the school community, and we thank them sincerely for their years of service and dedication.
Additionally, Mr. Paul Rousseau was honored for his 25 years of dedicated service to the school. One of the most beloved members of the faculty, Mr. Rousseau received one of the loudest ovations of the morning as he was joined on stage by members of his family to receive his commemorative gift and recognition for his lasting impact on the Bishop Guertin community.
A new honor was also introduced this year: the Charism Award. Named in honor of longtime teacher and administrator John Devlin, whose 47-year career exemplified the mission of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, the award recognizes a Partner in Mission who lives out the core values of Fr. Coindre’s Charism: open heart, missionary spirit, compassion and trust, and holistic perspective. Bishop Guertin’s first-ever recipient of the Charism Award was the very deserving and dedicated Mrs. Mollie Pinsonneault, Campus Minister.
Finally, Mr. Oscar Rivera, Mr. Keith Adams, and Mr. Scott Camilleri were recognized as the faculty and staff members to whom the 2026 yearbook was dedicated. This honor serves as a heartfelt tribute from the student body and faculty to educators and mentors who have made a lasting impact through their teaching, guidance, and example.
