Kevin Conway Named Head Coach of Girls Hockey
June 15, 2026
NASHUA, N.H. – Bishop Guertin Director of Athletics Ryan Brown has announced the hiring of Kevin Conway as the newest head coach of the varsity girls hockey program.
Conway brings a wealth of experience to the Cardinals, having spent nearly two decades with the Islanders Hockey Club and its predecessor, the Dual State River Hawks. Throughout his coaching career, he has worked with players across a wide range of age groups, spending many years developing athletes born between 1995 and 2000 and, most recently, coaching the 2011 birth-year team.
“I am very excited by the opportunity to help re-establish Bishop Guertin as perennial state tournament participants and state championship contenders,” Conway said. “This is going to be a challenge, but as a program we are going to be up for it. I look forward to getting started this fall.”
In addition to his duties with the Islanders Hockey Club, Conway spent three seasons as the head coach of the UMass Lowell Women’s Club Hockey Team from 2021-24. In that role, he oversaw all aspects of the program, including coaching, recruiting, practice planning, travel arrangements, and scheduling outside competition.
Conway also brings extensive experience covering the sport throughout the region. A longtime college hockey reporter for The Eagle-Tribune, he spent years covering the local and national hockey landscape while serving on Hockey East committees and participating in the voting process for the Hobey Baker Award, presented annually to college hockey’s top male player.
“We are so fortunate to have someone of Kevin’s background step into this role as the head coach of our girls hockey program,” Brown said. “He comes to BG with so much experience in the game and with his background in the women’s game that we could not be more excited to see what he can do with the continued development of our girls. His enthusiasm for the game and for this position has been evident since he first submitted his name and our players and parents should be looking forward to next season and his leadership.”
Conway takes over a Cardinals program with a proud tradition with state titles in both 2021 and 2023 and will look to build upon that success while continuing to foster excellence both on and off the ice.
