Fischer ’28 Captures Division I XC State Title

Manchester, N.H. — Bishop Guertin High School sophomore Ethan Fischer ’28 captured the Division I State Championship crown Saturday morning at Derryfield Park. Fischer completed the challenging 5K course in 16:01.76, finishing nearly 13 seconds ahead of the runner-up.

With the victory, Fischer becomes the fifth member of the Bishop Guertin boys cross country program to win an individual state title — all since 2006 — continuing the program’s proud tradition of excellence.

The BG boys finished the day with 179 points, claiming sixth place and earning one of the eight qualifying spots at the Meet of Champions.

The girls team will also be moving on to the MoC as they finished fourth with 152 points, led by freshman Zoe Coler's fifth-place finish in 20:07.67.

The 2025 NHIAA Cross Country Meet of Champions is Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Hills House Course in Hudson and is hosted by Alvirne. The girls race is set for a 2:30 p.m. start time, while the boys will begin at 3:10 p.m. Results for this meet can be found at LancerTiming.com.
