Class of 2031 – HSPT Entrance Exam Registration

No special preparation is required for the HSPT. Students should approach it as they would any other standardized or state assessment. A good night’s sleep, a healthy breakfast, and a calm morning are often the best preparation. Some schools offer HSPT preparation courses, and free online resources are also available for students who would like to become familiar with the format, question types, and timing of the exam. These resources can be helpful, but they are not required.

If your child is sick or unable to attend their scheduled HSPT date, please contact the Admission Office as soon as possible. We will be happy to help move their registration to another available testing date. There is no need for a student to attend while feeling unwell. Rescheduling is subject to space and the remaining testing dates available.

No accommodations are accepted for the HSPT. The exam is administered simply to give us a baseline. It allows the Admission Office to see where students do well and where they may face challenges. It is just one piece of the application process, alongside teacher recommendations and the academic transcript, that helps us learn more about each student.

Parents may wait in their vehicle in the parking lot near the student drop-off area while testing is underway. Parents are not permitted inside the building during the exam. Families may also leave after drop-off and return at the scheduled dismissal time. Additional information regarding check-in, testing, and pickup will be provided before the exam.

Because the HSPT is administered through the E-Score format, the Admission Office typically receives results within 24 to 72 hours after testing is completed. Our goal is to mail a hard copy of your child’s score report within one week of the exam. Please allow additional time for postal delivery.
