Bishop Guertin Celebrates Class of 2023 During 57th Commencement

NASHUA, N.H. - Bishop Guertin High School held its 57th Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, June 4, for the Class of 2023. The afternoon’s events served as a celebration for the 209 graduating seniors and all of their tremendous achievements accomplished over the course of four unique years at Bishop Guertin.

In front of friends and families inside the Roedel Field House, the Class of 2023 completed their time as BG students and began the next chapter as members of the welcoming and far-reaching alumni base. They venture out into the world with Bishop Guertin President Linda Brodeur’s theme for the school year — “Be The Reason” — reminding them that they have a responsibility to make a difference in the world, whether that be on a grand scale, or just for one other person.

Seo Young Rachel Lee of Yongin, South Korea — the daughter of Su Hyung Lim and Byoung Ha Lee — had the honor of serving as this year’s valedictorian. Lee heads to Cornell University this fall to continue her education after an outstanding four years on Lund Road. She addressed her classmates, encouraging them to, “Celebrate not only the end goals, but enjoy every step along the way. Show your appreciation to the people who have helped you reach this point. And most importantly, if you ever feel lost, remember that the Nest will always be right here.”

Class salutatorian Elianna Youssef of Nashua and the daughter of Dr. Denise Youssef and Dr. Elie Youssef spoke about enduring the challenges of COVID, but making the most of the opportunities that came as a result of the pandemic. She also encouraged her fellow Cardinals to be grateful for all those who helped guide the Class of 2023 through their four years at Bishop Guertin despite the uncertainties and challenges that presented themselves along the way. Youssef will take her own advice regarding gratitude and compassion with her next fall when she begins her studies at the College of the Holy Cross.

Principal Jason Strniste lauded the Class of 2023 for their resilience and accomplishments, underscored the responsibilities that had been entrusted to them as a result of their successes, and called on them to transform the world as responsible, faith-filled individuals and leaders.
