Trent Wright Named LLS Student of the Year
Boston Student of the Year Nominees
Senior Trent Wright on being named the 2022 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LSS) Boston Student of the Year on the evening of April 10. Wright was honored after he and his team raised more than $93,000 for the organization over seven weeks of hard work.
His team of 14 fundraisers included fellow BG students Colin Toohey ’22, Nick Root ’22, Maddie Moynihan ’22, Eile Doyle ’22 ’23, and Laura Bucci ’23. They were joined by Vanessa Welch of Boston25, who was on hand to emcee the event and present Trent with his award.
Students of the Year is a philanthropic leadership development program for exemplary high school students. During the campaign, participants foster professional skills such as entrepreneurship, marketing, and project management to raise funds for the LLS.
The LLS is a global leader in the fight against cancer. The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world, provides free information and support services, and is the voice for all blood cancer patients seeking access to quality, affordable, coordinated care.
