Partners in Mission
In post-revolutionary France, Father André Coindre, filled with compassion for the suffering of young people, established a religious institute of consecrated men, the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, to serve them. Coindre’s simple progression from viewing with open eyes the suffering of young people, to experiencing deep, heart-felt compassion for them, and then acting to alleviate that suffering came to be recognized by the Church as a “charism,” a gift given by the Holy Spirit to an individual for the good of the entire Church. Today, Coindre’s charism thrives not only at Bishop Guertin but in all 11 of the Province of the United States schools of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. As genuine partners in mission, the Brothers and lay men and women who work in these schools strive to embody Coindre’s charism through word and through deed.

Governance
Bishop Guertin High School is a school wholly owned by the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. It is a New Hampshire, non-for-profit corporation serving the needs of the young people of the Greater Nashua region.

The sole corporate Member of the school corporation is the Brothers of the Sacred Heart of New England Inc.

The Member appoints the President and the Principal of Bishop Guertin High School. They form the school leadership and guide the school community in the charism and mission of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart.

Board of Directors
The Member appoints a Board of Directors which, in concert with the President and Principal, operates and provides the necessary oversight and governance of the school community. They are alumni, parents of alumni, and active members of the local community who give of their time and talents for the betterment of the BG community. Current parents may be members of board committees, but may not serve on the Board of Directors.
