BG Welcomes Cardinals Home
After switching to remote learning on March 12th, Bishop Guertin received local and national praise for its response to COVID-19. Now six months later, our Cardinals have returned home to 194 Lund Road for full in-person instruction.
Following a summer of facilities and technology upgrades, BG took an informed approach to welcoming back all our students. Beginning on August 24th, each class was given one day in building to acclimate to new protocols, including one-way hallways, lunch delivery, and spaces reconfigured to accommodate social distancing. From there, in-building capacity was slowly ramped up using our cohort model which is intended to allow for easy shifts between low and full student attendance in school. As of Thursday, September 3rd, 100% of students are able to attend in-person, with limited students opting for remote instruction.
"We continue to build our comfort level with full occupancy," wrote Mr. Strniste in an update on our Coronavirus page. "We appreciate the cooperativeness and investment of our students in making this process a success so far. ...As we build on a strong start, we know that the year will bring challenges. We are ready to be flexible and make adjustments in the interests of safety and the optimal formation of our students. Thank you for all your help in ensuring that COVID stops with a Cardinal!"
