Asbestos Notification - August 2024
Each year, all schools are requested to inform the school community of the status of asbestos-related materials on site. Bishop Guertin has completed a comprehensive review of materials — including the buildings and grounds — and has a number of government-recognized plans in place to ensure the safety of all. Recent reviews have indicated that we are compliant in all areas and more than meet the expectations of various government agencies.
For the continuing safety of the school community, our maintenance personnel are all trained and qualified competent persons in dealing with any possible asbestos issues.
The review of the Bishop Guertin site and the plans in place can be reviewed in the office of the Business Administrator by appointment.
Water Outlets - September 2023
In compliance with New Hampshire law (NH RSA 485:17-a), Bishop Guertin School conducted lead testing in September of 2023 on sixteen water outlets. No lead was detected in filtered water bubbler/bottle filling stations commonly used by students. One sink in the back of the cafeteria kitchen exhibited lead levels exceeding allowable limits. This sink is not used for cooking or drinking and has been taken out of service for remediation. The school will continue to participate in state-wide lead testing and other monitoring measures to ensure environmental safety.
