Evening Maintenance - IMMEDIATE
Position Overview:
Bishop Guertin High School is currently seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to fill the Evening Maintenance position. This is a full-time evening position ideal for someone with basic custodial and basic maintenance skills who is fluent in both English and Spanish. The role includes monitoring outside custodial staff, assisting with event equipment setup & teardown, and ensuring the building is secured each evening.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Proven experience in custodial, maintenance, or a related role.

The ideal candidate should be bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
-
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Experience supervising or coordinating with third-party contractors is a plus.
-
Flexibility to occasionally work extended hours or adjust the schedule based on evening events.
Primary Responsibilities:
-
Perform light custodial tasks, such as spot-cleaning surfaces, emptying trash, and ensuring event spaces are clean & tidy.
-
Conduct limited maintenance duties, including minor repairs and basic troubleshooting of facility issues.
-
Monitor the performance of outside custodial company employees to ensure they meet expectations for cleanliness and upkeep, addressing any key issues directly or reporting them to management.

Assist with setting up and cleaning event equipment, such as chairs, tables, and staging used during evening events.
-
Secure the facility by ensuring all doors and windows are locked before leaving.
-
Provide support during evening events by responding to facility needs or addressing equipment-related requests.
-
Communicate effectively with students, staff, visitors, and custodial staff.

Assist with special projects directed by the Building Maintenance & Grounds Manager.

Perform additional duties as required by the Facilities Department.
Physical Requirements:

The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring moderate physical effort, such as moving equipment or climbing ladders.

Comfortable standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
Supervision:
Reports to the Building Maintenance & Grounds Manager
Employment Terms:
This is an at-will position with an annual evaluation. Salary is based on experience but is anticipated to be between $40,000 – $45,000 per year. Normal work hours will be Monday – Friday from 3PM to 11PM with occasional weekends.
