Art Teacher

Due to strong enrollment, Bishop Guertin High seeks a full-time Art teacher experienced with various mediums and a vision for program growth. A successful candidate should have a desire to teach in a Catholic school and possess a capacity for positive culture-building and formative classroom management.  Experience teaching digital media and design is strongly desired. Advanced Placement course experience is preferred. Budget and supply management, as well as strong organizational skills and an eye toward detail will additionally distinguish a candidate.

Biology Teacher

Due to strong enrollment, Bishop Guertin High School seeks an experienced, full-time Biology Teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. The successful candidate will possess the ability to teach all levels of Biology with the potential in the future to teach life-science electives in a relevant field of study. Candidates for this position should demonstrate exemplary content area knowledge and flexibility and comfort with the use of technology in the classroom. Additionally, the successful candidate will have the desire to work in a Catholic school, collaborate with colleagues, set high standards for learning, and display a passion for helping students solve problems.

Choir Director

Due to strong enrollment, Bishop Guertin High School seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated Choir Director to grow our established choral program. The full-time position includes directing three choirs and teaching various elective classes. The position may include involvement in Music Ministry and our annual musical production. Accompaniment skills are necessary. A successful candidate will have the desire to teach in a Catholic school, should have previous choral experience, can establish a positive culture within student ensembles, and will work energetically in a student-centered environment.

Computer Science Teacher

Due to strong enrollment, Bishop Guertin High School anticipates the need for a qualified, full-time Computer Science teacher for the 2021-2022 academic year. Desired candidates should possess the desire to work in a Catholic school and the subject matter background to support the school’s robust Computer Science curriculum which includes ninth-grade Explorations in Computer Science, a diverse number of technical and artistic electives courses (Python Programming, C# Programming Honors, CAD Fundamentals, Intro to Web Design, and Graphic Design), as well as AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A. Interested candidates should have solid programming proficiency (Python, C#, Java), as well as experience in website construction, CAD, and/or Adobe Photoshop.

English Teacher

Due to strong enrollment, Bishop Guertin High School seeks an experienced, full-time English Teacher for the 2021-22 school year. The successful candidate will possess the ability to teach various courses including, but not limited to, Introduction to Literature, World Literature, American Literature, and British Literature. AP certification is desired, but not required.  Candidates for this position should demonstrate exemplary content area knowledge in grammar, writing, and literature, as well as flexibility and comfort with the use of technology in the classroom.  Additionally, the successful candidate will have the desire to work in a Catholic school, collaborate with colleagues, and set high standards for learning.

Health & Fitness Teacher

Due to strong enrollment, Bishop Guertin High School seeks an experienced Wellness (Health/Physical Education) teacher to join its community for the 2021-2022 school year. The successful candidate will have a desire to teach in a Catholic school and be a dedicated educator with excellent content knowledge, who will deliver engaging, student-centric instruction while also forming positive relationships with all members of the school community. NH Certification in Health and/or Physical Education instruction is preferred.

Math Teacher

Due to strong enrollment, Bishop Guertin High School seeks a qualified and experienced, full-time Mathematics Teacher to join its community for the 2021-2022 school year. The ideal candidate will have the desire to teach in a Catholic school, possess excellent subject-matter knowledge, and display a passion for engaging with young people. The successful candidate will possess the ability to teach courses across the curriculum from Algebra I through Calculus.

Spanish Teacher

Due to strong enrollment, Bishop Guertin High seeks an experienced, full-time Spanish teacher to join the school community for the 2021-2022 school year. The ideal candidate will have a desire to teach in a Catholic school and be comfortable teaching a wide range of Spanish courses, working as part of a team, and clearly articulating grammatical principles while at the same time encouraging the growth of a wide range of communicative skills. A successful candidate would possess a B.A. in Spanish or an adjacent discipline.

Administrative Assistant for Student Services

>

Position Goals:

The various Administrative Assistants at Bishop Guertin High School are tasked with the role of supporting the various directors and/or of supporting teachers and counselors in their role.  They perform diverse secretarial and administrative duties while being available for the range of potential duties that may be requested of them to achieve the educational goals of the school community. Always by action and manner, they seek to embody the charism of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in their dealings with faculty and other staff and with students, parents and others with whom they may interact. The Administrative Assistant for Student Services reports to the Director of School Counseling and Admission.

 

In addition to the general administrative duties, this position has specific responsibilities related to this role.

 

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Executes the day to day duties performed for both the School Counseling and Admission Offices
  • Receive calls, take messages and perform other communication duties for the Director, the two Associate Directors, and the other Counselors
  • Service the needs of students, parents, faculty and staff as it relates to the duties of this office
  • Organize and process student materials for as part of the application for admission review, by the Director or Associate Director of Admission
  • Organize and process all information for the Director and Counselors to proceed with academic advising, the college admission process, and programming
  • Manage the Letter of Recommendation process from the faculty for the students and Counselors
  • Keep the office and materials of the Student Services Office current, organized and accessible
  • Maintain SCOIR, process all college applications through SCOIR
  • Have a strong working knowledge of data bases (Blackbaud, SCOIR, WORD, EXCEL, Power Point)
  • Performs general office requests, typing, copying, filing, file generation, note-taking, distribute mail, and other duties as needed
  • Reaches out to families when necessary via phone or email and responds to all inquiries in a timely manner
  • Schedules appointments, tours, Shadow Days, large programs, and other activities
  • Greet families and students as they come to the office for tours, Shadow Days, or seeking the Associate Director of Admission
  • Schedule student and parent appointments to meet with the Counselors
  • Assist with Student Services in the following areas:
    • Preparation for Parent and Student programming
    • Coordination of hand-out materials
    • Open Houses
    • Department mailings
    • High School Nights
    • College Fair
    • Career Fair
    • Admissions Testing
    • Ambassador Program
    • Student Shadow Program
    • Course Selection Night
    • Placement exams
    • Accepted Student Night
    • New Student Formation Night
    • Freshman Orientation
    • Graduation Events
  • Maintaining and organizing all students’ college applications materials and execute sending student/school documents to colleges.
  • Update and maintain all pertinent files for the department
  • Coordinate Records Room, maintenance of all current and alumni records, scanning of graduate files and response to verification requests
  • Prepare, maintain, and organize new student records and application files
  • Input all student information into database, follow-up on registrations, course selection, and start of school forms for all new students
  • Support and help the Director with budgetary items such as office supplies, memberships, other pertinent needs of the office
  • Edit and assist in preparing all information sent from the Student Service Office
  • Other support as needed or available

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma, recommended having an Associate’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience in a related role in business or other schools including public relations, secretarial or other tasks.
  • Proficiency in computer usage including WORD and Excel, and record keeping.
  • Exhibits high levels of confidentiality and discretion
