Director of Teaching and Learning

Bishop Guertin High School is seeking an outstanding educator and leader for the position of Director of Teaching and Learning.  

 

The Director of Teaching and Learning supports instructional excellence at Bishop Guertin by supporting the members of the faculty. Ultimately, the Director of Teaching and Learning ensures that the classroom instruction of Bishop Guertin High School remains rigorous, dynamic, of consistently exceptional quality, and in accordance with the school’s mission. This position will provide support and mentoring to enhance the program of professional development and formation of the faculty.  The Director of Teaching and Learning will ensure a high professional standard within the faculty and will bring innovation to the recruitment, retention, and professional growth of present and future educators at Bishop Guertin.  

 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced and outstanding educator with demonstrated ability and comprehensive knowledge in pedagogy. The successful candidate will possess leadership and mentoring experience. The individual must be an independent and proactive self-starter with a servant leadership mentality. This is a new administrative position at Bishop Guertin High School and the selected individual will have the opportunity to develop the role into a high-impact ministry.

Spanish Teacher - 2023-24 School Year

Due to strong enrollment and projected need, Bishop Guertin High School seeks an experienced, full-time Spanish teacher to join the school community for the 2023-2024 school year.  The ideal candidate will have a desire to teach in a Catholic school and be comfortable teaching a wide range of Spanish courses, working as part of a team, and clearly articulating grammatical principles while at the same time encouraging the growth of a wide range of communicative skills. A successful candidate would possess a B.A. in Spanish or an adjacent discipline.  The ability and flexibility to also teach French would be an additional asset.

Head Coach - Field Hockey

Bishop Guertin High School is seeking applicants for a Head Field Hockey Coach.

 

The chosen candidate will:

  • Commit fully to the Catholic Mission and Charism of Bishop Guertin High School, and promote the growth of student-athletes in all respects, both as individuals and as athletes.

  • Possess strong field hockey coaching knowledge, a vision for building an effective high school field hockey program at the varsity and sub-varsity levels, and the organizational skills needed to implement this vision.

  • Assemble an outstanding varsity and sub-varsity coaching staff, incorporating existing members of the Bishop Guertin community whenever possible, and promote the growth and development of the coaching staff.

  • Develop strong relationships with players, parents, and school staff.

  • Demonstrate sportsmanship, class, and integrity at all times as a visible representative of Bishop Guertin High School and a role model to players.

  • Hold extremely high expectations for all athletes, both on and off the field.

  • Commit to off-season preparation and conditioning programs, and support players year-round in their personal, academic, and athletic development.

  • In an appropriate manner, consistent with NHIAA guidelines and Bishop Guertin policies, promote the school’s field hockey program within the school and broader community.
