Dakota Bilodeau Named Head Coach of BG Field Hockey Team

NASHUA, N.H. — Bishop Guertin Director of Athletics Ryan Brown has announced the hiring of Dakota Bilodeau ’17 as the new head coach of the varsity field hockey team for the 2023 season.

“I am incredibly excited and humbled to be leading this team that I care so much about,” Bilodeau said. “This is a great group of young women and I am so honored to get the opportunity to lead them. To say I am excited about getting started would be an understatement.

“I want to thank all my former teammates and coaches who have helped mold me into the person I am today. I also want to thank the BG administration and Ryan Brown for their trust in me to be the next head coach of this program,” Bilodeau added.

Ms. Bilodeau is currently the Associate Director of Advancement at Bishop Guertin and has a wealth of experience at her alma mater as both a player and coach. As a senior, Bilodeau served as team captain of the field hockey, indoor track & field, and softball teams, earning first-team all-state recognition in softball.

While a student-athlete, Ms. Bilodeau was a member of several varsity Cardinal teams:  field hockey (2013-16), softball (2014-17), indoor track & field (2015-17), ice hockey (2013-14) and outdoor track & field (2017).

After graduating from BG, Bilodeau went on to Bryant University, where she had a stellar collegiate career as a member of the Bulldogs’ softball team from 2018 through 2021. While in Rhode Island, she was voted team captain by her coaches and teammates in each of her two final seasons.

Upon her return to Nashua to begin her career in the Advancement Office, Bilodeau made her foray into the world of coaching. Most notably for this position, she joined the field hockey staff in 2021 as an assistant. Additionally, Bilodeau was also a staff member for the indoor track & field team in 2021-22.

Since then, Bilodeau has also served as the head coach of the Alvirne High School softball program for the last two years, helping the Broncos to a pair of winning seasons after inheriting a sub-.500 team from the year before. Additionally, she has been the head coach of the Polar Crush 18U Gold softball team the last two springs.

Joining Ms. Bilodeau on the sidelines as an assistant is Leslie Why, who also serves as the head coach of the varsity girls lacrosse team.
