Ryan Brown Named New Athletic Director

Bishop Guertin High School is proud to announce the selection of Mr. Ryan Brown to serve as the next Bishop Guertin Athletic Director.
 
Mr. Brown brings varied experiences in Catholic and prep-school athletics and administration. He joins Bishop Guertin High School from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Dover, where he has served as Athletic Director since 2012 and Head Football Coach since 2017. During his tenure at St. Thomas Aquinas, Ryan has also coached sub-varsity teams in the hockey and baseball program and served as Dean of Student Life. Previously, he coached and served as Assistant Athletic Director, Football Coach, and Physical Education Teacher at St. Luke’s School in New Canaan, CT. Mr. Brown is involved with the NHIAA and serves on the Ice Hockey Committee.
 
Originally from Sandy Creek, New York, and a graduate of Middlebury College, Mr. Brown earned his degree in Political Science and was recognized as an All-NESCAC Offensive Lineman. He served as an Assistant Coach at Middlebury, Utica, and Hamilton College.
 
We express our appreciation to all who assisted with our Athletic Director search. Our search committee of administrators, teachers, coaches, and board members reviewed 175 applications for the position, conducted first round interviews, and ultimately recommended Mr. Brown as a finalist. The committee was impressed by Mr. Brown’s appreciation for athletics as an integral aspect of whole-person formation, his commitment to multi-sport and multi-activity athletes, and his desire to empower coaches to work entrepreneurially and to promote the development of leadership skills in student-athletes.
 
We express our appreciation to Mr. Peter Paladino for his service to Bishop Guertin’s student-athletes and coaches during his nine years as Athletic Director. During Mr. Paladino’s tenure, our athletic program has built upon its tradition as the premier high school program in New Hampshire. Mr. Paladino continues in a new role as Director of Alumni Affairs, Annual Fund, and Facilities at Bishop Guertin High School.
