Michael Santos ‘82 Named Director of Business and Athletic Development

Bishop Guertin High School has named Michael Santos ‘82 as Director of Athletic and Business Development. In this new role, Mike will work with President Linda Brodeur and Principal Jason Strniste to advance innovative ideas, facilitate the advancement of the school’s strategic plan, and seek out opportunities for growth in revenue and fundraising. He will also build programs and develop relationships that will increase awareness of the Bishop Guertin brand and philosophy of “whole-person formation” while generating opportunities and revenue for our interscholastic athletic program. 

President Brodeur shares that she is excited for Mike to be joining the Advancement team. “His unique experiences and love of BG will undoubtedly help propel the department forward. I am incredibly excited to begin working with him.”

“Mike comes ‘home’ to Bishop Guertin with a varied background, innovative ideas, and a history of involvement in the Bishop Guertin community,” said Mr. Strniste. “His skills, experiences, and commitment will be an asset to the school in implementing our strategic plan.”

Mr. Santos returns to his alma mater after a successful career as an attorney, educator, business executive and athletic administrator. Most recently, Mike held the position of Executive Director of the Eastern Hockey League. He has also held positions with various National Hockey League teams and regional organizations, overseeing operations, events, and serving as corporate counsel. In addition, Santos is an adjunct professor at Endicott College, Georgetown University, and St. Thomas University. 

"Bishop Guertin has played a big role in the success I’ve enjoyed in my life, said Santos. “It’s humbling to have this opportunity to contribute to the future achievements of the school and its students!”

“We are very pleased to have Mike Santos (re)join our Bishop Guertin family,” shared Tim Wholey, Chair of the school’s Board of Directors. “His depth of professional leadership experience and connections in the business and sports communities, position us strongly to advance and promote our fundraising and student activities. As a strong and active member of our BG alumni network, we are looking forward to Mike's success in raising awareness and support for our BG community.”

Member of the Board of Directors Joe Raczka ‘02 added, “Mike is a well-known member of the BG family and we welcome him back. His strategic vision for the broader Bishop Guertin mission, as well as the future of athletics will not only benefit our school but the entire community at large.”
